Words of Wisdom

It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world.

CLINT JONES WINS LIBERTARIAN PRIMARY IN CD-1; PREPARES FOR DEMOCRAT AND REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES

(Denver) – Clint Jones, Libertarian candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in Colorado’s 1st Congressional District, says, “The Democrats and Republicans have put our country into two unwinnable wars, piled on debt beyond all understanding, and has prolonged and deepened a normal downturn in the business cycle. Because of these actions the Democrats and Republicans don’t deserve a vote. Not one vote!”

Clint received his Master’s degree from the University of Colorado Denver campus in Human Resources Management and has worked in the Human Resources profession in Denver for 28 years. He has been a Libertarian for 19 years and serves on the Board of Directors of the Libertarian Party of Colorado. He regularly tithes his earnings and his time to non-profits in the Denver metro area.

In accordance with the Constitution of the Libertarian Party of Colorado, Article VIII, Section 5(a), I am submitting a letter of intent to the LPCO Convention and the LPCO Board of Directors of my candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives from the 1st Congressional District of the State of Colorado.

My qualifications are:

1. By the State Convention, I am retired from the Human Resources profession and am active part-time with a small number of real estate investments. I am a U.S. citizen born in Illinois and have been in Colorado since 1972.

2. My Libertarian National Committee card shows me a Libertarian since 1/31/1991 although I was voting Libertarian in the late 80’s.

3. My strong LP activity began in 2005 as the non-Board Membership Administrator reporting to the Outreach Director and was selected to the Board after the 2006 State Convention made Membership a Board position.

4. I have been a Gold Club 1776 member of LPCO since June, 2006.

5. My focus has always been to get the word “Libertarian” in front of each voter twice a day. In 2007 I purchased 432 Libertarian caps (there are about 40 left) as contribution premiums to further that focus.

6. In 2008, I contributed $2700 total to the LPCO, National LP, and the Presidential/VP ticket. I called 450 CO registered Libertarian voters raising contributions for the LPCO. I sold 80 Libertarian caps at the National Convention for $10 each. I raised $9000, outside of the LPCO contributions, to fund mobile billboards which were driven around Denver during the Libertarian National Convention and the Democratic National Convention.

7. In 2009, I made over 1000 phone calls to registered Libertarian voters in Denver County to find who may be contributors and activists to a Libertarian candidate and identified 200 of the @600 voters I was able to contact that said yes.
